Amy launched Our Safer World, which prompted her to take a team to Uganda and then to Haiti, to “be a voice for a developing country.” In this episode, Lynne and Amy discuss what it means to be a visual storyteller, how creativity can build success and connect people, and why Amy said Richard Branson is someone she admires.

Amy Augustin is president of Venture6 Studio – a creative services team that specializes in visual storytelling through video and design. With a lifelong passion for creativity and a vivid imagination, Amy has been able to excel in the creative field, building Venture6 Studio into one of the go-to choices for unique video and marketing work in Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay Region.

A Saginaw Valley State University graduate with a M.A. in communication and digital media, Amy has spent her career developing the skills to make digital media exciting and fun, most recently as a digital project manager at AVI-SPL, an audio visual company working onsite at The Dow Chemical Company. At AVI-SPL, she oversaw website design and development, e-blast campaigns, and mobile apps. She also taught communication courses at SVSU for seven years.

With her role at Venture6, Amy applies her creative and leadership talents to all aspects of the business, from the creative process to production and sales. Because the Venture6 team wears many hats, Amy can often be seen acting as a project manager, production assistant, director, or actor, recognizing the importance of lending a hand where needed and standing out of the way of others when their expertise is critical to get the job done.

Outside of work, Amy values the time she spends with her family — husband Gerry and her children Sophia, 18, Miles, 12, and Elijah, 4. She is happiest at home, cooking, playing games, reading, and watching movies. Amy also enjoys traveling and experiencing other cultures, something she is blessed to be able to do in in her personal life and on work assignments.
